Poverty is the root cause of malaria, many other health problems, as well as destruction of remaining forest. Fight poverty to help eliminate malaria, improve several health challenges and to protect our remaining tropical forests. We offer straightforward solutions with your help..
Young men (> 15 years of age) working in and near the forest are by far at the greatest risk of malaria. Many of these activities are illegal and most destroy the forest. Helping this risk group escape poverty and concurrently learning about health will have many benefits.
We plan the following projects in the villages at highest risk for malaria as first step.
- Keeping secondary and high school students in school
- Teaching English, about health and money management at the village level
- Identifying alternate employment opportunities for those at greatest risk
